Elder Scrolls Blades Now Available On Switch

The mobile Elder Scrolls spin-off has now made it to a new (kind of) mobile platform, the Nintendo Switch.

Comments

The mobile game Elder Scrolls Blades has finally been ported to the handheld hybrid Nintendo Switch, following an announcement last year. The dungeon-crawler is free-to-play.

Blades is an action role-playing game that takes place in first-person perspective like other Elder Scrolls games. It's more combat-focused than the other games, however, with encounters making up the bulk of gameplay. It also isn't as free-roaming as some of its counterparts.

As detailed in the Nintendo Eshop listing, you can customize your character, take part in Arena battles against single opponents, or travel into the Abyss for an endless challenge. It has cross-play so you can join up with your friends on mobile devices, and cross-save in case you've already started it elsewhere or just want to swap back and forth. And there's a meta-goal of creating and customizing your own city. A Quick Start pack for $15 includes 30,000 Gold, 2,000 Gems, building materials, a Sylvan Fountain decoration, and Bloodfall King gear.

The mobile game has a positive rating in the App Store. It is free-to-play on mobile devices too, with optional in-app purchases of different amounts of gems, ranging from $2 to $100. Gems are used to open loot chests.
