Elden Ring: Where To Get Glintstone Phalanx
Get a little bit defensive.
You may want to make the most of your spell-casting in Elden Ring by ensuring that you're being both offensive and defensive with your sorceries. It can help to have Glintstone Phalanx, a spell that lets you keep enemies at bay and damage them when they decide to get cocky. Read on to find out where you can add this spell to your loadout.
Glinstone Phalanx explained
Glintstone Phalanx is a sorcery that requires 22 Intelligence to cast. It summons multiple magical glintblades that track and damage your foes when they come near you. This means it's best used prior to getting close to an enemy so that the blades will fire off and damage them while you're in the process of using other spells for maximum damage output.
Glintstone Phalanx's item description reads:
One of the sorceries of the Carian royal family. Creates a defensive arch of magic glintblades overhead, which automatically attack nearby foes. This sorcery can be cast while in motion. Bestowed upon the enchanted Carian knights, who combined this art with their swordsmanship to maintain pressure upon their foes, striking in waves of steel and sorcery.
Where to find Glintstone Phalanx
Glintstone Phalanx can be purchased from Sorceress Sellen at Waypoint Ruins [1] in Limgrave. She sells the spell for 1,500 runes, but you'll need to track down a scroll for her first.
The Royal House Scroll [2] is found close to Sorceress Sellen, thankfully, making it easy to snag even at low levels. Simply walk or ride Torrent south of Waypoint Ruins until you stumble upon an encampment with two large ruins. There will be sorcerers firing down upon you, so kill them and navigate your way to the eastern ruin. Here, there's a corpse you can loot to obtain the Royal House Scroll.
Head back to Waypoint Ruins and take the set of steps there into the cellar. Inside, you'll have to fight the Mad Pumpkin Head boss. This big and slow foe is a cinch to take out, but do keep in mind that his head is immune to damage. Focus everything on his backside or stomach to dish out the damage, and after he's down for the count, you can head through the door and meet Sorceress Sellen. She'll sell you Glintstone Phalanx once you give her the Royal House Scroll.
This NPC will eventually move from this spot if you follow her expansive questline. However, she will continue to sell her spells at her new location. If you want to know more about how all of this works, follow our Sorceress Sellen quest guide.
