Eidos Interactive, in a company financial statement, confirmed that it is working on at least ten games for the Sony PlayStation 2 and outlined its corporate plans for the immediate future. The company, recently in dire financial straits, plans to support all of the next-generation gaming platforms by launching new projects based on its most popular franchises. It hopes that the eventual establishment of the upcoming console platforms will reverse the recent trends of soft consumer demand.

"Looking to the next generation of hardware platforms, we currently have ten PlayStation 2 titles in development and are working closely with Microsoft and Nintendo to support their new consoles, anticipated for release in late 2001," said Ian Livingstone, chairman at Eidos. " We will debut on the [PlayStation 2] with titles such as Eden from Core Design and Timesplitters from Free Radical Design."

He went on to talk about the importance of the Fear Effect and Tomb Raider franchises. In addition, although not explicitly confirming a sequel, he strongly hinted at the company's plans to develop the next installment in the Fear Effect series. He also confirmed Gangsters 2 and Commandos 2 as part of the company's upcoming game release schedule.
