The newest addition to Eidos' fall lineup is World War II: Panzer Claws, a 3D RTS game in production at Germany-based Zuxxez Entertainment. The game takes place from 1941 to 1944 and re-creates important battles on the Eastern front, in France, and in Italy. Players can choose to command the Soviet, German, or Allied forces, and the game includes a variety of armored and air units, as well as ground troops.

Zuxxez is the company that bought the remnants of TopWare, the studio that developed Earth 2150 and is now known as Reality Pump. World War II: Panzer Claws is powered by Reality Pump's Earth-3 engine, which has support for DirectX 8 eye candy, such as real-time shadows, sophisticated lighting, and advanced weather effects. The screenshots above give an indication of the level of detail we can expect in the game.

A few related games followed Earth 2150's release in 2000, notably The Moon Project and The Moon Project . It's not yet clear how the detailed sci-fi tech trees so characteristic of these games will be adapted to the more historical WWII setting of the new game.
