Eidos and Microsoft Demo Madness

Eidos gives us a free ride in their latest vehicular shooter; Microsoft stumps us with shareware.

GameSpot News has intercepted two new demos to toy with this weekend. The first is Eidos Interactive's Terracide, a Descent II style game featuring a rocket-quick 3-D engine and multiple weapons. The game, which is fully texture-modeled, was developed for Eidos by Simis and should be spotted on shelves this August.

The second is the Microsoft Puzzle Collection, a compilation of graphically rich brain-twisters dreamed up by Alexey Pajitnov, the famed creator of Tetris. The demo has three of the ten games that will be released with the package. Probably in response to the overwhelming desire people have for playing Tetris in the workplace, the designers of the Puzzle Collection have been very upfront about what they call the "boss key" feature: an emergency button that, when pressed, immediately pauses the game and hides it out of your employer's view. The game should be in stores by the end of July.
