Actor Eddie Murphy has said that he would be up for starring in another Shrek sequel, or spin-off, featuring Donkey.

Murphy, who voiced the talking Donkey in the previous Shrek movies, recently spoke in an Etalk interview where he was asked about the possibility of ever returning as his animated character. The actor is enthusiastic about the idea and is just waiting for the call.

"Oh I'd absolutely be open," Murphy said. "If they ever, you know, came with another Shrek I'd do it in two seconds, I love Donkey."

Murphy also spoke on Puss In Boots: The Last Wish, the recent Dreamworks spin-off, and said that they should've done a Donkey movie. "Donkey is funnier than Puss in Boots," he joked. "I mean I love Puss in Boots, but ain't funny as the Donkey. No, I really would, I would do a Donkey movie I would do another Shrek in two seconds.

Murphy added that if Dreamworks wanted to do it, all they'd have to do is call him. "I'm ready, I'm sitting and ready to do Donkey," he added.

Shrek 5 was announced back in 2016, but there has been no news from Dreamworks about whether the movie is still in the works.
