EA Sports releases NHL 2004

Franchise gets new update; in stores beginning today.

The 12th installment in the NHL franchise, NHL 2004, hits store shelves today. Published by EA Sports, this game gets the cross-platform treatment with releases on the PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, and PC. Console versions of the game retail for $49.95, while the PC version costs $39.95.

NHL 2004 offers full player rosters, a means for increasing the intensity of hits, a new fighting engine, a dynasty mode that lets gamers perform general manager duties for their team for up to 20 seasons, and commentary from Jim Hughson and Craig Simpson.

The PS2 and PC versions also feature an online component.
