Electronic Arts has announced that it has signed Daunte Culpepper and Chris Weinke as the official cover athletes for Madden NFL 2002 and NCAA Football 2002, respectively. Both players will appear on the packaging, will be feature prominently in the merchandising of their respective games and will lend their football knowledge to the development process.

"Madden Football has always been one of my favorite games, and I am excited to be part of the EA Sports family now,'' Culpepper said. "This is the game we all play at training camp and in the locker room during the season. It is really an honor to be on the cover of this title, and I look forward to working with this talented team on the legendary franchise of sports video games."

Daunte Culpepper made the Pro Bowl last year for the Minnesota Vikings, while Chris Weinke won the 2000 Heisman Trophy as the starting quarterback of the Florida State Seminoles.
