EA offers retailers revised Red Alert 2 box art
The game publisher creates new packaging for its popular real-time strategy game Command & Conquer Red Alert 2.
GameSpot spoke to Jeff Brown of Electronic Arts today about the publisher's decision to alter the box art for its real-time strategy game Command & Conquer Red Alert 2. Although the game was released almost a year ago, the company is offering retailers revised packaging for the popular game. The box art contains scenes of well-known American monuments in the midst of a futuristic war, which in light of the recent terrorist attacks on the US may be considered inappropriate. EA is leaving the decision up to individual retailers--if they choose to send their current games back to the company they will receive games in the revised packages in return. The company expects to have the new boxes available in approximately two weeks.
Command & Conquer Red Alert 2 is a real-time strategy game set in an alternate future. Players command a military force in a war between the US and the Soviet Union. The game was developed by Westwood Studios, and it was released in October 2000. For more information, take a look at our full review of the game.
