EA dates Playground, Need for Speed ProStreet
Two of the company's heaviest-hyped games locked in to dates for the US and Europe.
Electronic Arts has dated two of its key late-2007 titles. EA Playground will be swinging in to North America on October 23 and sliding into Europe on November 2. Racing game Need for Speed ProStreet will be screeching into North America on October 31, stalling very briefly, and then skidding into Europe a day later, on November 1.
EA Playground, developed by EA Canada, is a set of minigames themed around kids' schoolyard antics, including paper aeroplane racing, tetherball, and dodgeball. Designed to be a family-friendly title, EA Playground will be coming to the Nintendo Wii and DS.
Need for Speed ProStreet is the latest in the driving franchise, which started in 1995 with the release of the first Need for Speed game for the PC. In the new game, developed by EA Black Box, players can race in four different styles--grip, drag, drift, and speed challenge--as they try to prove they are the street-racing king. Need for Speed ProStreet is coming to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, PlayStation 2, DS, PC, and mobile.
