EA Announces Alice Composer

Who will provide the soundtrack for American McGee's action adaptation of the Lewis Caroll novels?

Electronic Arts announced today that Chris Vrenna - former drummer and co-founder of the band Nine Inch Nails - will compose the music for American McGee's Alice. Since leaving Nine Inch Nails, Vrenna has done work for other alternative bands such as Marilyn Manson, Hole, and Smashing Pumpkins. Electronic Arts hopes that Vrenna's style of music will blend in seamlessly with its decidedly dark and morbid adaptation of Lewis Caroll's Alice in Wonderland novels.

American McGee's Alice is a third-person action game that takes place after Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. In the game, Alice attempts to reclaim Wonderland from the Dark Queen, who returned while the adventurous girl was away. Along the way, players will have help from the White Rabbit and the Cheshire Cat. They'll also have to fight off the Queen's card guards and the other vicious creatures that are patrolling the Wonderland landscape.

American McGee's Alice is due out this fall and will include a separate CD featuring Vrenna's music
