LucasArts Entertainment and Electronic Arts have announced that the companies have extended their distribution agreement, currently in effect only in Spain and Japan, to include territories such as Germany, Brazil, Australia, and the Asian Pacific. Under the terms of the agreement, EA holds the rights to distribute select PC and console products from LucasArts in each of the territories.

"These new partnerships reflect a further refining of LucasArts' long-term international business objectives," said Simon Jeffery, president of LucasArts Entertainment. "Electronic Arts' solid expertise in distribution within each of these territories will result in a greater overall efficiency for LucasArts. With the two companies sharing compatible goals, we look forward to continuing a strong and successful partnership."

LucasArts' current partner in Germany, THQ subsidiary Softgold Computerspiele, will retain a portion of the business by publishing and distributing Nintendo Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance games from LucasArts.
