E3 2019: Microsoft Debuts Battletoads Gameplay For First Time

Yes, the speeder bikes are back.

Since Battletoads was announced at E3 2018, we've been eager to see what Microsoft was aiming to do with a new game in the series. We finally got to see a little of what it has in mind with the debut of actual gameplay footage at E3 2019.

Like the original, this new Battletoads is played from a 2D perspective. It features a vibrant art style that evokes the '90s era attitude that Battletoads first launched in. You'll punch and combo your way through waves of enemies, battle against over-the-top bosses, and even ride speeder bikes. You can play with friends too, as the game supports cooperative play up to three players.
