E3 2019: Age Of Empires 2: Definitive Edition Gameplay Trailer Debuts

One of the PC's most storied strategy games, Age Of Empires 2, is getting the remastered treatment with Age Of Empires 2: Definitive Edition. A new trailer for it debuted at the Xbox E3 2019 press conference.

Definitive editions of Age of Empires I, II, and III were first announced in 2017. Phil Spencer announced in May 2019 that the definitive editions of the games would be part of Xbox Game Pass For PC.

The first Age Of Empires: Definitive Edition was released in early 2018. The definitive editions of Age Of Empires feature overhauled visuals at a 4K resolution, remastered orchestral soundtracks, and other balance tweaks. Age Of Empires 2: Definitive Edition will also feature an all-new campaign, titled "The Last Khans."

The game will be available "this Fall". A beta will be available in the near future, and interested players can sign up at the Age of Empires website.

In the leadup to E3, Microsoft said it was "going big" at the show, using its big presentation to cover 14 first-party Xbox One titles and several third-party games. Microsoft was eager to emphasize Xbox Game Pass too, revealing several new games for its subscription service. The company also revealed its plans for the next Xbox, codenamed Scarlett.
