The short trailer for Battlefield V at Microsoft's press conference showed off War Stories, the single-player campaign where you play through different vignettes of the larger conflict. Previously, the Nordlys campaign was teased with two female characters under duress, with one saying, "Not a single drop. I love you." One is then tossed into the water as enemy soldiers approach.

After being teased on many a t-shirt, the Battletoads are back. For those who may not remember them, the Battletoads are the creation of Rare and are three anthropomorphic toads called Rash, Zitz, and Pimple. Black Desert Online is a game known most for its impressive character creator, which was incredibly intricate. The trailer shown during Microsoft's press conference however, emphasised the world and story, selling the idea that there's more to the game than just an impressive character creator. MMOs on console are a rarity, so those looking for a world to lose themselves in may want to keep an eye on this.

Although Crackdown 3 was hit with another delay recently--this time into 2019, it was good to see a nice chunk of gameplay. The fact that it was Terry Crews getting into the thick of action certainly helped. As Microsoft has been saying, Crackdown 3 will leverage state of the art tech to make destruction better than ever, and that certainly looks to be the case based on the trailer.

After the critical acclaim that Cuphead received, it should come as no surprise that there's more content on the way. Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course adds a new character to the mix, as well as a whole bunch of new enemies and bosses. Of course, this means hours of tricky platforming and challenging shooting for everyone to play through--exciting!

Perhaps the most anticipated game of E3 2018, CD Projekt Red's follow-up to The Witcher 3 received a brand new trailer at Microsoft's press conference and it didn't disappoint. While we were expecting a dark and perhaps bloody take on a dystopian future, what we got was a vibrant city bursting with colour and strange characters. That's not to say it was free of violence, because there was plenty of that too.

Devil May Cry 5 trademarks have been floating about for a while now, so it wasn't a huge surprise to see the game at the show. What was a surprise, however, was that it's returning to a very traditional take on the series, following the excellent reboot by Ninja Theory. With Devil May Cry 3's Hideaki Itsuno at the help, Capcom is promising this will be the best entry in the series to date. The trailer shows that, at the very least, it will have the crazy actions fans know and love.

The Division 2 moves the action to a new city: Washington, DC. As with the first gameplay trailer for the original Division, its showcase at Microsoft's press conference involved a number of players co-ordinating to complete a mission. While it was fairly familiar stuff, what stuck out was how detailed the world is and the visual variety on display. For those who are a little tired of the snow-covered aesthetic of the first game, this is sure to be welcome.

We expected that the next time we see Fallout 76 would be at Bethesda's press conference, but were treated to another look during Microsoft's briefing. Although there wasn't any gameplay, we were given another look at world, which wasn't as scarred by a nuclear apocalypse as we thought it'd be. In fact, there was quite a lot of life on show, which speaks to the game's place in the timeline, being the earliest in the series so far. Excitingly, Fallout 76 is said to be four times the size of Fallout 4, which means Bethesda has plenty of space to work with--we imagine there will be nuclear hellscapes a plenty out there in Fallout 76's wasteland.

In an unexpected twist, Gears of War is also making the jump into the tactics genre. The action was described as being a more aggressive version of the classical tactics formula.

It was only a matter of time until Master Chief made his return, and there's plenty of cause to be excited for it. While the first trailer for Halo Infinite didn't show any gameplay, it did reveal that the game is being built on a new engine called Slipstream. Sadly, this doesn't represent the game as a press release shared by Microsoft afterward described the footage as a "thrilling engine demo that provides a glimpse into the future of Halo, leading the franchise into new and unexpected directions."

Bandai Namco has been on a great streak with its anime and fighting games lately, and Jump Force seems like the perfect way to capitalize on the excitement surrounding them. Essentially an anime fan's fever dream turned into a video game, Jump Force brings together some of the most recognisable, beloved anime properties into one title. During the trailer we saw One Piece, Dragon Ball, Naruto, and Death Note represented. To top it off, they're fighting in real-world environments. Madness.

Few games give players the opportunity to cause as much chaos in an open-world as the Just Cause series does, and that trend looks to continue with the fourth entry. In the trailer, which made its debut at the Xbox press conference, we saw classic tools such a the grappling hook, parachute, and wingsuit make their return. But the situations main character Rico finds himself in looks set to get a whole lot wilder.
