Now Playing: Square Enix, Ubisoft, and Sony E3 2018 Press Conferences Plus Reactions and Gameplay

We're at the end of E3 2018, and that means the press conferences are wrapping up soon. Many have already taken place, but one of the biggest--Nintendo--is still to come Tuesday morning. That means a lot of gaming news, reveals, and trailers for Nintendo Switch in addition to everything we've already learned. Here's when all of the conferences start and where you can watch livestreams and liveblogs.

EA Play was the year's first event on Saturday, bringing news about things like Battlefield V and Respawn's new Star Wars game. Microsoft followed with a jam-packed press conference that featured dozens of games. Bethesda offered details on the highly anticipated Fallout 76 and confirmed numerous other games--including The Elder Scrolls VI and its rumored sci-fi game Starfield.

Devolver Digital also held an E3 press conference on Sunday. Square Enix followed these on Monday morning with a shorter-than-expected broadcast; Ubisoft took its turn on Monday afternoon with a reveal of Assassin's Creed Odyssey and a surprise Star Fox crossover. Sony's presentation brought a new Last of Us: Part II trailer and more. And Nintendo wraps things up today with a briefing that is expected to have a lot of news about the new Super Smash Bros.

Below we've laid out the exact schedule, complete with start times, for all of this year's press conferences. We'll be streaming all of these press conferences here on GameSpot as well as on Twitter. The show itself runs June 12-14, and like last year, it's open to the public--here's how to get tickets.

For an idea of what to expect from the show, check out all the games confirmed for E3, as well as all the companies at the show. We've also rounded up the biggest E3 rumors to give you an idea of what might be announced.

Sony press conference disappointing too short talking too much didn't show any games that i didn't know about and microsoft was much better with new games i didn't know about .And square enix was ok and bethesda was ok too hope nintendo press conference will be good

Avatar image for deactivated-5bee09b4aa01f

@wespunk: Of course they didn’t show any games that you didn’t know about, they’re announcing PS5 next year with new games and launching it that Fall, Besides not showing any New games the fact that PS Plus free games ends for PS3 and PS Vita are 2 “HUGE” hints that PS5 is launching Fall 2019.

I hope EA's play event is actually interesting and isn't boring as hell lol. EA always focuses so much on it's sports games but I feel like when it comes to those we already know what to expect as they really don't change much from year to year so it's boring going through the same ol Madden and Fifa Shtick each year.

I'm confused about the dates. Is it from Jun 12 or Jun 9?

Why did Devolver Digital's press conference have to be late on a Sunday night? fuuuuuhhhh...Watching it live in Twitch chat was gonna be so hype. Gonna have to catch it later on Youtube.

E3 will be about the Roman theme this year.

Halo Roman

Black ops 4 kinda Roman

Assasins creed Egypt kinda Roman

Well it's Roman E3 year.

Avatar image for Marky360

@lorddaggeroff:

No honestly it's gonna be a flying theme this year. Superman Anthem and even Beyond Good and Evil 2 oh and the Avenger game I am sure will have some flying as well. That's gonna be the big mechanic this year.

Hopefully this year's E3 is a bit better than last year, it sounds great so far! Spiderman, Ghost of Tsushima, Days Gone, Death Stranding, Last of Us part 2, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Super Smash Bros switch, Splinter Cell, Cyberpunk 2077, whatever the hell is Fallout 76 about and idk hopefully Pokemon switch and Metro Exodus. E3 is going to very good!!

Avatar image for playstationzone

@sagittarius476: lol 😂 like what put for fallout 76 . Ya looking forward to cyberpunk 2077 but most looking forward is last of us part 2 death standing and hope for more info on ff7 remake and more .

Avatar image for sagittarius476

@playstationzone: Yeah I'm still confused what that fallout is about, hopefully not a full blown MMO like ESO but I guess we'll find out. Yeah, definitely cyberpunk 2077, it looks really good and I'm a big fan of those developers. Hopefully we get deeper insight on those games too and release dates including FF7 remake yes.

As per usual, Sony & Nintendo keep their shows till the end of E3 especially after Master Clown Phil went on stage to see how much of a circus MS show was and decide what they want to reveal.

hahaha , am the fanboy. you couldn't suck up to a piece of plastic more than you actually do kiddo, I started Zelda BOW on the WiiU, around the last part of Halo 5 just saved the arbiter and enjoying PS4 PRO as well. Phil's performance and MS turned up to be better than last year and the year before so wipe your tears all is good for Xbox and the industry.

All I care about is Devil May Cry 5 and or Dragon's Dogma 2 by Capcom.

And maybe Ghost of Tsushima and potentially Prince of Persia.I think Devil May Cry 5 will be my most anticipated game ever basically. And I don't say those things lightly.

There's been tons of rumors and hype and expectations, and DMC and DD creator said he would reveal a game last year but later apologized that he couldn't iirc. There's been word since 2015 that a DMC 5 with the original cast: Nero, Dante and Vergil from DMC4&3 is in the works. I am excited and kinda afraid of what news we will get in E3.

Someone please answer me this:

Can someone please explain why the biggest and most important - main event conferences - are not open to the public and don't take place during the actual E3 EXPO June 12-14th ??????

Me and my buddy, considered investing quite a lot of money and attend E3 this year. Main events like Sony conferences - with all the big reveals - are scheduled before E3 ! Sony at June 11th.
Meaning by the time E3 actually starts, there's nothing major new to see. These are the biggest announcements and reveals and they are not part of the 3-day expensive ticket to E3?!???

What the hell? What's the point of going to the expo now?

So, now we feel like it's not worth spending so much money on plane tickets, hotels at X4 price, food, transportation, and E3 tickets if we can't attend the main events and biggest shows.

I should note that I considered flying from Israel with a plane ticket alone that costs over 1000$ easily, 15-22 hours flight, just to attend this and potentially see DMC5 revealed live in person, and other games.

Really disappointing....

Avatar image for Marky360
Marky360

@GunEye:

You get to actually play the games on the show floor so everything that Sony shows off in there press conference will likely be playable that's the whole point of going to E3 to play all the new stuff announced.

Avatar image for sagittarius476
Sagittarius476

@GunEye: Dude you're better off just watching it live stream, I mean all the way from Israel? $1000 plane ticket? hours of flights just for 3 day at E3? on top of that the price for the E3 tickets itself? nope! a big nope! just get some food, get a nice, quiet place and watch it alone or with friends. Plus, you will have the crowd to deal with, sweaty fools running around and most of the games, you'll probably won't even get a chance to play. Trust me, you're better off just watching it on Youtube.

Avatar image for Marky360
Marky360

@sagittarius476:

How does watching it on YouTube compare to actually being able to play the stuff that's there? He's better off going and actually getting a chance to play the games then just watching them on YouTube.

Avatar image for sagittarius476
Sagittarius476

@Marky360: its up to him but E3 is not what you expect, long lines, dealing with heat, sweaty people running around in enclosed spaces & most of the times, you won't even get a chance to actually play the game you want to on top of that E3 is heavily disorganized! A complete mess! Don't think the show runners expected shit tons of people.

Avatar image for brenine

@GunEye: I just wanted to say, if you're in Israel, don't fly here for something like E3. Take a few weeks, or even a month. Come here, do the West. It's nowhere near enough time to cover most of the country, but do Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon and Yosemite and (maybe, it's a bit far) Yellowstone. And then go to E3.

If you're flying halfway around the world, spend some time and enjoy yourself. Don't pin it all on one event, make the most of the plane ticket.

In future years, obviously.

Avatar image for GunEye
GunEye

@brenine: hey Brenine! Thanks for dropping by saying this.

It's funny that you mention just that, all it crazy, but I did almost the exact thing at end of last summer!

My brother and I took about 17-19 days +/- including flights to the US.

We made a hell of a road trip. Given our short time, we squeezed so much in, and tore through the country - several states, bazillion miles and hours of driving and several flights between states.

We landed in LA Clai. Went all the way up to Sequoia NP, Kings Canyon and Yosemite.

Drove all the way next to San Francisco (not through unfortunately, hit Pacific Road. Visited Redwood NP edge of Claifornia. Crater Lake on Oregon.

Flew to Utah Salt Lake..drove all the way north to Wyoming Grand Tenon and Yellowstone NP.

Got back to SLC. Flew to Phoenix. Drove to Grand Canyon NP South Rim where we sealed the trip.

Time of my life, wish I had more time and that it lasted longer. First time in the US too. It was incredibly challenging to arrange, coordinate and just beating the clock. With many days not knowing/finding where to sleep (prices/full).

Wasn't an easy trip, but my - was it exciting and liberating. Felt wonderful. And I think that except a few setbacks and unexpected issues like crazy Wild Fires, blocked roads and sites -

We did really well, managed to taste every Grand location and explore. And so many hooking trails that our shoes were rugged and our bodies (even being very athletic and fit) sore and full of blisters haha. It had its toll but it was entirely with it 10/10.

Overall above and beyond expectations. Mission complete. ^^

Are you from the US? Loved your country, loved the people - you all very nice, friendly and fun to be with. And I'm just happy I was able to see and experience all these iconic places in a single trip. Even if I had limited time/taste in some of them. :) So many pictures (about 4000)

@GunEye: I think that there is such a massive turnout with press from all over the world that they can't accommodate for the actual public. I agree with you, as a gamer, the big deal are the conferences. But there will be plenty of games to put your hands on before everyone else. One thing's for sure, it's more suited to the U.S. residents and it would be a waste of money to go there from Israel :) I personally liked the idea of getting it streamed in cinemas but they never do it in here Ireland. Oh well, we can always enjoy it from the comfort of our couch, get some friends over and freak out at the new announcements from home ^^

Avatar image for GunEye
GunEye

@staz:Yeah, unfortunately at this point, we've decided not to go to E3. And while we save a lot of money in the process, it's really a big bummer. I was suppose to meet with a good friend from the US for the first time and attend the biggest gaming event. We were really hyped about the big reveals and announcements, and I personally was hoping to be there live when they (HOPEFULLY!) announce DMC5.

But not having the main events open to the public makes it far less worthwhile imo. Wish I had good friends here to invite home and stream the shows and get excited together, like you describe. Pretty late though at night, Sony's conference is about 4 AM here in Israel and 2 AM in Ireland. That's the latest one, however.

Any games you are personally excited about?
I'd say the most anticipated ones in order are:

Devil May Cry 5 (and/or Dragon's Dogma 2 - but I prefer DMC5 if I had to pick)
Ghost of Tsushima - have a good feeling about this game

Valkyria Chronicles 4 - but I doubt it will get much spotlight.
That's basically it. The new Spiderman may actually be good too.

Where do you think it's best to watch the show?
I thought about using YouTube, watching the live channels. Will there be a general E3 channel? Or would we have to watch individual channels? (Sony channel, Microsoft channel, Capcom Channel, etc...)Or will it all be watchable in Gamespot YouTube channel? I don't remember how it's like.

Avatar image for staz
Staz

@GunEye: I'll watch it on Youtube or Twitch from the official channels but you can watch it on Gamespot too.

I'm looking forward to hear news from From Software's new title (I know it's gonna be Tenchu but I would love a little Bloodborne 2 teaser thrown in there :)), The Last Night, Witchfire, FFVII Remake, Anthem (even though I can smell the disappointment coming from a mile away).

Avatar image for GunEye
GunEye

@staz: So just switch between YouTube channels of different companies and producers? For some reason I remember E3 having a public YT channel. I will definitely watch Sony's E3 on Sony's YouTube channel. I really want to watch Capcom - but I've no idea when they are showcasing. They don't appear on the schedules anywhere. So I'm guessing either on Sony, Microsoft, or PC Game Show maybe?

Oh wow I forgot about a potential Bloodborne 2. I would love BB 2- since BB is probably the best PS4 game I've played along Horizon Zero Dawn.
However I don't think we will be getting BB soon, if ever, so I doubt we'll see it.

I'll be extremely disappointed if I won't get my DMC5 already! And I fear that if we don't get Devil May Cry 5 now- it will never happen.
Witchfire also looks awesome. Just a teaser though, but the graphics, art style, atmosphere and tone looks great- and enemy design is top notch and combat has great weight to it. I like the gritty grueling spooky feel of it.

Have you ever played Vanishing of Ethan Crater? I have it on Steam and haven't got to it yet.
Also, I PM'd you, check it out.

Avatar image for staz
Staz

@GunEye: Yeah, I usually stick with watching each youtube channel to avoid delay, connection issues or useless comments before, after and during the conferences.

Don't worry about DMC5, it will be at E3 for sure. Daniel Southworth, the voice of Vergil, has alluded to it on social media with hashtag E3 :) I'd even bet on a Spring/Summer 2019 release.

Haven't played the Vanishing of Ethan Carter. Looks great but I know myself and it's the kinda game that would sit in my game library for ages because there is always something more engaging to play.

Avatar image for GunEye
GunEye

@staz: wait wait wait! Whaaat?!

Holy hell ! How did you ever hear about these news, before I did, and where?!

This tease could be the real thing. Not the first time he slips info out.

Just googled and found it.

This is like 4 days ago, how did you hear about it?

I take it you are a DMC fan as well?

Avatar image for staz
Staz

@GunEye: I enjoyed DMC 2 and 3 back in the days but I wouldn't consider myself a huge fan of the franchise. I just came across an article a day or two ago and just remembered it :) So yeah, the remasters coming out, the rumors and social media stuff are all pointing towards an E3 release.

Can someone explain to me why it says on E3's homepage that E3 is going to be 12.06-14.06 when in reality all the interesting bits are already over? I mean, if I've understood it correctly all that E3 is really about is some other dudes commenting on the revelations that has come on the conferences 9-12.
