Now Playing: Death Stranding - Official Trailer | E3 2018

The new Death Stranding trailer released during Sony's E3 2018 briefing confirmed two new high-profile actresses have joined Hideo Kojima's mysterious PlayStation 4 game. Lea Seydoux and Lindsay Wagner will have roles in Death Stranding, and their in-game character models are based on their real-life appearance.

Seydoux (Spectre) and Wagner (The Bionic Woman) join other big names featured in the game including The Walking Dead's Norman Reedus, who plays Death Stranding's main character, as well as Hannibal star Mads Mikkelsen and Oscar-winning director Guillermo del Toro (The Shape of Water).

Sony's press conference offered an extended look at the game while still not revealing much about what you do in it. We again see the invisible enemies who are apparently blind. Reedus's character can be seen moving through a variety of environments before meeting up with a woman who helps him to avoid detection from the invisible monsters. He later is seen with a piece of equipment that is strapped to his back which can seemingly reveal their positions temporarily, but we remain very much in the dark about any specifics--we're really just grasping at straws to piece things together.

Death Stranding is currently in development for PlayStation 4 and PC. No release date has been announced, but keep checking back with GameSpot for more as we learn it during E3 this year.

Sam is a courier (he needs to deliver anything to outposts, a few faction members know Sam can sense the sea of hunger and must not under any circumstances touch or trigger them) he will get blisters, pain, and stress, he will lose alot of items when starting out but no matter what Sam needs to see he's sister, because each time he goes back in time he slowly starts to forget going insane, only the baby caries he's soul and the spirit of mankind, however if same goes back he must find remnants of him to move forward or he will want to kill him self as death is doing the same thing again where only you remember but the world has moved forward but you must value your sanity either for the past or for the future where the sea of darkness now knows your out if the loop and carrying is less of a concern as it is defending it because you knew all that along time ago that every item you Cary and every time your touch your stranded in time and no matter what you do your death stranded and it's better to die.

From what I heard of the game, the game has some sort of time travel and that is the reason each person has a baby that is cloned. The cloned baby travels in time to become the host that recently died.

They can announce as many celebrities as they wish, until they explain what this is or show actual gameplay I'm not interested.

I’ve always wanted to a play a hiking and climbing simulator! 💃

This game is PS4 only as the video on the oficial PlayStation channel says "Only on PlayStation" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rP3UngLFou4

Avatar image for Orontes13

@paulo1manso: Yup. I do not know why people keep mentioning that it is being developed for PC as well. Sony, at least the bit of it that deals with video games, is one of the most assholic companies in the industry. Hell will freeze over before Sony allows this to be released on PC. At least not for years after PS4 launch.

Cause celebrities make a good game... pathetic. Lol seriously the **** I just watched?? How are people getting hyped for this shit. MGS has always been a overrated turd and this looks no different.

Avatar image for bobbo888

@gameroutlawzz: looks like some crazy ass dark sci fi shit with a convoluted story; looks sweet.

Avatar image for Ayato_Kamina_1

@gameroutlawzz: The original MGS was groundbreaking man... sure Kojima went a bit nuts with the story over time, but the actual gameplay and graphics and stuff was innovative and amazing.

People that keep complaining about the gameplay shown are also forgetting that Mads is the main villain and rolls around with his own personal Army. What we have seen is tiny bits of the stealth and transversal gameplay. I’m not a huge supporter of kojima I honestly thought MGS5 wasn’t that good... but I’m really feeling this new direction and this unique World he’s building.

Taking a page of From Software with the obscurity are you? I guess that's trending nowadays. 3 trailers and we still have no idea what's going on in this game.

- Scripted much?.....used to be fun seeing the occasional SCRIPTED/QTE game at E3, nowadays Sony have abused it so much that I wonder if PlayStation gamers know what real gaming is like without "training wheels".

@johnny0779: My #1 prob with Sony games has always been QTE. Otherwise amazing games and series like God of War get bogged down with QTE. It adds nothing but annoyance.

Then again, there are the 20min+ cutscenes...

...or the "way too many menu clicks to get into the game, equip an item, or execute a turn" issues, that are more of a Japanese game design problem than a Sony problem (I'm looking at you, beloved Souls series, and you, every Japanese tactics game ever).

Bottom line is, all of the above are just outdated game design concepts that need to be retired (THANK YOU, NEW GOD OF WAR).

Avatar image for johnny0779

@Pyrosa: Even the new God of War is just too Scripted for its in good.....we need unpredictable gameplay to be considered real gameplay.

Not even out yet and I can tell the cinematics will be waaaaay to much for me.

There seem to be 3 reactions to the trailer

1) WTF

2) Not writing it off, but gameplay looked boring

Avatar image for slypher9

@ice12tray: gameplay seems more on the survival side of things, than full on action..

And for me i still take these previews snippets

Avatar image for Pyrosa

@slypher9: What gameplay?

Is that what that was supposed to be? Kojima-fans waited another year for that?

Avatar image for ArabrockermanX

I have yet to play a game with celebrities that's decent, maybe this game will be different but with how much of the budget celebrities tend to consume it's hard to believe there'll be enough to develop a great game as well.

Avatar image for slypher9

@ArabrockermanX: with Sony funding he can go all out..

What you get without a Konami leash.

@nibbin1191: Lol He just has a very creative mind with no limits and sometimes that can be a bad thing.

Avatar image for deactivated-5b2c8e0382c99

@JIMDOG4442002: He doesn’t have a creative mind. He just makes stuff confusing for the sake of being confusing. It’s not that hard to do. It’s like putting a twist in every story. He’s the M. Night Shyamalan of video games. He’s a one trick pony.

Avatar image for JIMDOG4442002

@frosty988: So you saying creating Zone of enders didn't take a creative mind? Ok...

Avatar image for deactivated-5b2c8e0382c99

@JIMDOG4442002: I never said he hasn’t done anything good in the past. He has completely lost his touch lately. He does the same thing time after time. Referencing an old ass game is no way to argue his current level of creativity. A lot of people have created good things, only to lose their touch later. He’s no longer creative. So, yeah. I stand by what I said.

Avatar image for asnakeneverdies

@nibbin1191: No, don't say that, please. 😟

Avatar image for asnakeneverdies

@nibbin1191: I know the work of Hideo Kojima impacts those of mammalian classification differently than us reptilian folk, however, this isn't about Death Stranding. It just breaks my heart to see you so beguiled by hatred as to desire such doom be laid upon your fellow man.

Your tiny paws are bloodsoaked and your weeny teeth are nibbling and gnawing at the meat and bones of disdain with fearless abandon, and it's such a terrible sight to behold. 😩

Avatar image for deactivated-5bfc8187829ef

oh my god these people!!! when the game released we will find out what a great game he has made. kojima is the master of strange story telling !how people do not know him by now is very strange!

Hollywood games have been tried before and are known to fail. And I still don't understand why Sony has to release its game on PC. Has the whole world gone crazy

Avatar image for nsa_protocol44

@elkoldo: Did you really write that last part?? Man you have some serious issues. There are a lot of PC games coming to console and you dont see us saying why are they getting a console release.

Avatar image for slypher9

@nsa_protocol44: your missing the big picture... Sony is going the ms route because of MONEY nothing else.. as a business model it make sense maximize profit potential..

BUT then you kill your growth potential (hardware) wise, because now pc games who didn't have a console don't need to go out and get one if the games are coming there way..

And the flip side is same, pc games that come to console only do it for money..

I have a capable pc and all consoles... The day i can get all games on my pc is the day i stop buying console because there's no exclusivity anymore..

AT the moment, one S only serves as a 4k player because i play xbox games on pc..

Avatar image for nsa_protocol44

@slypher9: Sony exclusives are never coming to PC, this one isnt a full Sony exclusive (Nioh). I remember in the beginning when this game was announced Kojima him self said that this game would come to PC. The other fully Sony exclusives like TLUO, Days gone etc will never see a PC release thats why i have a Pro.

And that big picture you are talking about i already know, but it has nothing to do with Death Stranding (not being a PS4 FULL exclusive, it never was to begin with)

PS: the game was lacking yesterday, so hopes are not so high for this game.

Avatar image for slypher9

@nsa_protocol44: i take these a teasers to be honest..

Not until kojima blows the lid off and explained what's going on and the media has hands play, I'll keep watching these vids as meh..

With the slow pace he devs games, this is at leasts 3 years away..

Avatar image for sephirothswing

@elkoldo: one reason and one reason only $$$$$

Avatar image for slypher9

@sephirothswing: ....so much this..

Avatar image for Acillatem1993

@elkoldo: Cuz why not you moron.

Avatar image for JIMDOG4442002

@elkoldo: Cause PC is better and games are originally created on PC so yeah..

Avatar image for rglgathrawn

@JIMDOG4442002: I wasn't aware that PC gaming came before the Atari 2600...
