Now Playing: Todd Howard Shows Off Fallout 76 At Xbox E3 2018

Fallout 76 will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on November 14, Bethesda announced today during its E3 2018 briefing. You may be able to play sooner, however, as there will be a beta before launch. Bethesda's Todd Howard cheekily joked on stage that Bethesda games are known for having issues, so it's nice to see the developer letting fans in early to test it before launch.

Fallout 76 is a prequel to all of the previous games in the series. You play a member of Vault 76, who is now tasked with rebuilding the world as you emerge from the vault. Unlike past entries in the series, Fallout 76 is a multiplayer-focused, online-only game.

According to Bethesda, Fallout 76 is four times the size of 2015's Fallout 4. There are also new creatures, while the game--which is set in West Virginia--has six distinct regions. Each has its own style, risks, and rewards.

We'll have lots more on Fallout 76 tonight and in the coming days, so keep checking back for more. And catch up on everything you missed at the Bethesda conference.

Well to be honest I'm not waiting for a multi player game its just not my cup of tea. On the other hand the theme of the game looks interesting and they claim it it is possible to solo the game. I think this is a game I might like but will wait until its out and been reviewed before making up my mind. I did buy ESO at launch and was disappointed so this time it will be wait and see first.

Hey, Gamespot. We need more articles on individual, same-game features that can't possibly be rolled in a single entry.

@matricks_: This is one of the worst, spamming game sites in the world. Plus they keep regurgitating old articles, over and over. I mostly stick to n4g for gaming news, even though it's comment section is mostly toxic.

@lonesamurai1: No, he said you can play it single player. Get ready for radiant questing!

Bethesda's dead to me.

Heres the real question: will the collectors edition come with the game?

Good. Enough games coming in September and October to not get curious and waste money.
