Turner and IMG's competitive gaming brand, Eleague, today announced a partnership with Warner Bros. to add Injustice 2 to become the company's latest big-time tournament.

The first-ever Eleague Injustice 2 World Championship will take place later this year. It covers the culmination of the Injustice 2 Championship Series, featuring 16 of the best Injustice 2 players competing for a share of $250,000 in prize pool money.

Some of the featured matches will be broadcast on TBS in the US, with every match being shown live on digital platforms. Coverage begins on October 21 with the open qualifier.

Injustice 2 is the fourth Eleague game since launch in 2016, following Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Overwatch, and Street Fighter V.

"Injustice 2 seemed like one of the best fits. In addition, the FGC is amazing, first of all, and then working with DC Comics and those characters," Christina Alejandre, general manager of Eleague, told GameSpot. "Street Fighter [V] was a really great experience for us. And this gives us an opportunity to experiment with other games and feature them."

Keep checking back for more from our interview with Alejandre.
