During its pre-E3 show, Microsoft revealed some of the first details on Killer Instinct Season 2, including a release window and one of its new characters.
A teaser trailer (above) showed off one of the upcoming season's new characters, TJ Combo, in action. He'll be the first character released as part of Season 2 when it launches sometime this fall. Other characters and features that will be added to the game weren't confirmed, although Cinder, a character from the original Killer Instinct, was teased as another possible addition.
Killer Instinct developer Double Helix was acquired by Amazon earlier this year, casting doubt on continued support for the Xbox One fighter. Microsoft claimed the game would not be affected and said that the franchise, which it owns, would continue on.
Killer Instinct was released for the Xbox One last November, earning a 7.0 in GameSpot's review. Since then, new characters and a story mode have been released for the game as Season 1 wrapped up.
