E3 2014: Assassin's Creed Unity E3 Poster Shows Four Characters

What might it mean?

No Caption Provided

A massive poster for Assassin's Creed Unity covering one outside wall of the Los Angeles Convention Center--the site of next week's E3--shows what appears to be four different assassins. We also see the tall tower from the game's teaser trailer.

What could it mean? A past report suggested Assassin's Creed Unity would feature four-player co-op. In addition, a source previously told The Escapist that Assassin's Creed Unity would have a co-op mode and that it would be revealed at E3.

Assassin's Creed Unity launches this holiday season for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

In addition to Assassin's Creed Unity, Ubisoft is rumored to be working on another Assassin's Creed game, subtitled Comet, for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. This game will reportedly let you play as a Templar.

Ubisoft's E3 press conference takes place tomorrow, June 9, at 3 p.m. GameSpot will carry a live stream event, as well as instant analysis video features immediately following the event.

I'm not sure how people can keep buying these games. I'm not saying their purchasing decisions are wrong but to me each game feels exactly like the last. I couldn't stomach more of the same gameplay after Platinum-ing the admittedly well made ACII.

Game is called "Unity" and it now has four characters in it. I'm guessing it means either:

A. Four person co-op

B. A situation similar to GTAV where you play as each of the different characters at different times

If it is A then I am completely not interested. If it is B, then I'm actually kind of excited...depending on whether they are all four actually GOOD characters.

It's AC Brotherhood all over again, but in France I think. That guy on the right seems to have a very french-looking moustache which supports my theory.

The series is alive because of the ongoing hype for it. When the first game came out in 2006, alot of people got excited because the graphics was outstanding for it's time. However, the gameplay was repetitive and boring due to the awkward controls and poor mission design. Till this day I can't comprehend what people find fun in this series, even with all the improvements Ubisoft made. I honestly can't stand these games (though I have to say the story element of AC2 was very touching).

I think that means the templars and assassins will probably unite in this sequel. Hopefully this will be the finale and Ubisoft can focus on improving watchdogs now

<< LINK REMOVED >> Agreed, it was one of my favorite parts of Brotherhood. Maybe this time you hire assassins with real personality and backstory. They look unique from each other, at least.

Co-op AC... hmm. I wonder if they're copying the Splintercell Blacklist model for this. At least that felt additive to the game and not something tacked on or outside the main game.

<< LINK REMOVED >> It won't be local co-op. If they'll add co-op this time around it'll be online-only. Unless, perhaps, the maps are extremely small and not the open-world-ish we're used to.

I see the Gaming Hive Mind has now moved on to hate on the AC games too. They were getting pretty popular with the general public after all. Nice and predictable as always.

<< LINK REMOVED >> Hating AC is old, people have disliked it ever since it was clear that we'd get one game a year. i.e. when AC Brotherhood was announced. That game was also the first thing I thought about when these multiple assassins were revealed.

The most logical explanation is the Brotherhood will be coming back to be used as a tool [or perhaps much more] once again. Thus the title "Unity". Not exactly breaking news.

Assassin's creed needs to take a break. The game is not that great and they keep on popping them out like hotcakes.

<< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >>COD usually gets a score on par with AC, and at times higher tbh. But there again lies my original point. A game can get stale, recycled, etc. Just because its selling well doesn't really mean its great. It can be so yes, but it can simply mean that it has a blind following too. A fair sum of such falls into the latter..mainly those that have had a good few years run. How you might ask? Look at this article for example. See how many people you count simply say something like "I dont like AC anymore and here is why" only to be barraged with "You're a hater" "The game is awesome and will always be great" etc. Those getting upset over an opinion are the blind followers just in case ya didn't know. AKA the hardcore fanboys and girls ;P

And somehow the sales rise with each new installment. My advice would be to ignore the games you find stale and only buy the ones you like. I don't see how a bad game affects you personally. It's not like they're pushing you to play them.

Maybe it's a four musketeers kind of story. The name "Unity" suggests there are more characters or groups involved, joining forces, to fight one mutual enemy...something like that.

A good idea if it is going to be 4 player co-op. It has to be said, even better if offline mode also allowed. It doesn't exist these days.

Are any of these characters female by chance? Or are we getting the generic mid-20s, white, male archetype in 4 very similar bland flavors?

Could just be other Assassins you can train. Brotherhood made it seem like there could be something like co-op going on through trailers and looks. There seemed to be different Assassins trained in different arts and disciplines at first in that game. I would say not to believe the hype this time around, but who knows.

I don't think it means a GTAV-style multi-character single player game. I think this is a hint at the new "multiplayer experience" they've been talking about. Maybe drop-in/drop-out online co-op? Or something?
