E3 2014: 95% Of PS4s Connected to the Internet, YouTube App Coming This year

Sony adds that players have logged over 1 billion multiplayer sessions so far.

Tonight during Sony's E3 press conference, SCEA CEO Shawn Layden revealed that 95 percent of PlayStation 4 consoles are connected to the Internet.

He also revealed that the long-awaited YouTube app will be available on PS4 sometime later this year. When it arrives, users will be able to upload video directly to YouTube by using the "Share" functionality. SImilar functionality is already available on the Xbox One and Wii U.

Layden also revealed a handful of other PS4 stats during the conference, including the fact that PS4 owners have spent 1.25 billion hours gaming since the platform launched last year. In total, players have logged over 1 billion multiplayer sessions and pressed the Share button on the DualShock 4 controller 220 million times.
