Announced last fall, the Rise of Isengard digital-only expansion will be released on September 27. The expansion will contain three zones: Dunland, the Gap of Rohan, and the famed Isengard, complete with Orthanc, the iconic tower where the traitorous Saruman dwells. Journeying through these zones, players can level up to a new height of 75.

Gamers looking to slay a mighty beast will have a new monster to smite in Rise of Isengard. A new 24-player raid included in the expansion has players taking on the ancient Draigoch, "one of the most powerful creatures of Middle-earth."

In addition to dating the Rise of Isengard expansion, Turbine--which has seen its revenue triple since making LOTRO free to play--also announced three prepurchase offers gamers can secure. Available for prepurchase now are the $30 Base, $40 Heroic, and $50 Legendary expansions. Each iteration contains the Rise of Isengard expansion, as well as a host of different in-game content. For a detailed breakdown of what each pack will offer, check out the Lord of the Rings: Rise of Isengard official website.
