LOS ANGELES--Fans of the Jagged Alliance strategy series haven't had an update from the franchise since Jagged Alliance: Wildfire released in 2004. However, that's going to change this fall, when Jagged Alliance: Back in Action ships for the PC.

Jagged Alliance gets back in action this October.

More specifically, the tactical role-playing game will ship exclusively for the PC in North America on October 18. Previously, the game was pegged to ship at an unspecified date in 2011.

As for the game, Jagged Alliance: Back in Action is a remake of the well-received Jagged Alliance 2, which released on the PC in 1999. The game sends players to the fictional nation of Arulco, a land ruled by a ruthless dictator.

Players will join a rebel force and must free the land from the ruler's decrees. The game also sports a "plan & go" mode, which meshes real-time strategy with turn-based elements.
