E3 2001 Preshow Report: Capcom announces Street Fighter Alpha 3 GBA
Capcom's acclaimed 2D fighter is going handheld.
Capcom announced today that it is bringing the latest installment in the Street Fighter Alpha series to the Game Boy Advance. Acknowledged as the Street Fighter line that has remained closest to the series' roots, the Street Fighter Alpha series is known for its technical fighting engine, detailed anime-style sprites, and ultrafast pace. Street Fighter Alpha 3's major contribution to the series was its unique super system, which allowed players to choose from three different fighting styles for every character.
Not much is known about how the GBA version of Street Fighter Alpha 3 will differ from the arcade and console versions. Stay tuned to GameSpot for further news as it develops. The game is due out this fall.
