PRYZM Chapter One: The Dark Unicorn is a new platformer/adventure game from TDK Mediactive that is being shown at E3. The game's title character is Pryzm, a unicorn who is working together with Karrock, a troll with magical powers, to cure their land of an evil plague. Players control both Pryzm and Karrock together as a single unit, and the two provide their own unique powers in their quest against evil.

PRYZM is a bit like Spyro in the ordering of its levels--the game features a hub system off which a variety of levels project. As Pryzm and Karrock cure each level of the curse with their various magic spells, they'll return to the central hub level to move on to the next. The game differs strikingly from Spyro in its presentation, though. While that game is a saccharine sort of cute, PRYZM looks dark and wicked, convincingly portraying the evil that pervades the world. The game's look hasn't been totally fleshed out, but it looks good already, and the developer ensured us that it will be vastly improved before the game comes out in November 2001.
