E3 '07: Resident Evil 5 Trailer Impressions

First of all Resident evil is kinda making me mad they have pretty much gotten rid of Umbrella which is a HUGE part of these games. So when they get rid of umbrella they mess with the storyline. So pretty much the only thing RE 4 and from what i've read RE 5 have in common with the previous Resident Evil games is some of the characters and the Zombies. Don't get me wrong I loved playing resident evil 4 but I just didn't feel it matched up with the storyline. Second of all how is the game being racist? Chris is in africa in africa the people tend to have darker skin ever notice that? Also all the zombie were white before ,but no one seemed to have a problem with that.

The only fear I have about this game is that it's not going to differ much from RE4 gameplay. The enemies do look a lot faster and maybe a lot tougher, but I feel the atmosphere all over again, just with Chris and this mystery girl instead of Leon and the president's daughter. Either way i'm still psyched to see how the game pans out, as well as the story.

Who gives a fuk what race they are!? Mexicans or Blacks I don't give a sh!T, a zombies a zombie, and they need killing. What I'm waiting for is kid zombies. That's when sh!t gets scary.

I agree wholeheartedly, Heiro. Husaberg needs to read a dictionary and learn to use some suffixes and punctuation. And I can see many an ethnic joke being made in the game's general direction after I buy it and play it with friends. I can see it now. "GET OUT OF THE WAY YOU STUPID ZOMBIE F***. the game have the same camera like resi 4, but this one have alot of problems. i mean a lot of wait they say the game comes 2009 what the japanese are doing why so long for a game that we se the first trailer in 2006 and now we have 2008 it has been two years since then. second: the resident evil 5 have racism problems, what are they say,i mean its game!!!!!!only now the want to make some money and the game its there chance.............but its only a [game]

One of the few game series that i´ve never played is Resident Evil and I find it kinda strange when I think about it, cuz it´s the king of horror to lots of peopole. anyway i´m just checking it out to see what happens.

Yeeah... I gotta tell ya, I'm getting worried that we don't get any more news about the game..., hope they don't like, start making it from scratch, like they did with RE2 because of that stupid racism issue... I mean, THAT would be even more stupid... Anyway, hope they make it for the PC too...

Ok, wait back up. There are cries of racism about this game? Has anyone ever, you know, read ANYTHING about Africa? Because last time i checked, Africans lived there. And what color skin do Africans have, hmm? Oh wait, thats right, BLACK SKIN! Except for Europeans who came over during the Imperialism and colonization of Africa, the people who live there are black. It would be worse to make the setting of the game Africa and NOT have black people in the game, or has anyone thought of that yet? Also, what reason would a JAPANESE game company have to be racist towards black people? I guess there is a VERY slim chance of it, because anything is possible, but the idea is very unlikely. Just let it go people. Sometimes, there really isn't an evil alternate motive behind things. As for the game itself, I cant wait for it. It looks very good and if it has the same gameplay as re4, then it will be fantastic. Not saying that the gameplay of the old re games weren't fantastic. But it just doesn't seem like that type of game. As for a question i have, who does everyone think the woman in the fish tank(because she obviously is submerged in water) is at the end of the 3rd trailer?

They're still making a big deal about the so-called racism in Resident Evil 5? They just need to shut the hell up and deal with it. I don't see anything wrong with the game. I'm hispanic and I played RE4 and it didn't bother me at all. All of my friends who are African Americans can't wait to play the damn game. I'm gonna play the friggin game cause I know its gonna kick ass. And I'm stickin to that.

It's set in somalia, war torn somalia, it's already a rough place now, be even worser in RE5. Stop with these racist theories, it seems that white people are more bothered about it than black people and i think they're racists and they're saying it's racist so maybe capcom will feel hostility and change the whole game plot! NOTHING WAS RACIST UNTIL PEOPLE BROUGHT IT UP! On resident evil outbreak, there's a black character killing off loads of white zombies and nobody says anything 2 him!

re5 will deiffinitely be free roam i bleive it will be very similar to resident eil 4 except with advanced game engines and weapons etc,sure to b the next best installment for teh series =]

I am really looking forward to this, however i just hope its not the typical Namco experience e.g. need Green Key for Green Lock, need yellow key with puple spots for lock with yellow with puple spots (LINEAR). as i hate playing on rails. hope they make it a little more free-roaming.

Oh, also onto the racist issue: RE players had been killing mostly white zombies through all previous series, especially RE4, and I didn't see any whites complaining about RE being racist. Get over it. It's a game. Also, hell ya, what vass86 said.

Must agree with jrco666 about the merchant, it was fun at first, but it does become somewhat annoying later on. But it's RE, I will still look forward to it. Worth waiting for.

Another RE4, but with Chris this time. Seemingly the same gameplay as well. I thought RE5 would go back to killing zombies, not the fake zombies RE4 created. Honestly disappointed in this knowledge. I'll still be getting the game, but I'd really like to know how they could just kill the story they had built. RE has evolved fine but it didn't have to kill the story in the process. One thing I don't want to see though is the merchant!!! If the merchant returns in RE5 RE will officially have died all to appeal to a larger market..

This is the nuke of all games, Im pulling my hair out waiting on it! The trailors are even good,I hope that it will be a long hard game,you know,the ones you dont want to end.RE4 was my fav game,this one should be even better. LETS BLOW SOME HEADS OFF!

Resident Evil 5 is going to be sweet. Graphics look amazing, hope it comes out 2008 before june.

Its gonna be a BlasT...so much tense and the zombie really look scary...this is gonna be a lot of fun time to kill dead corpse...

WOW!!! I really want this game. So far everything looks more intense. And something about being chased by zombie-like monsters in BRIGHT broad daylight seems even creepier as opposed to the dark and dank nighttime or dusk settings. I cannot wait.

my opinion is-Wesker˙`s got a sample from parasites in RE4.Zombies should be some mix with T-virus and parasites.There should be one huge monster out of those mixes and G-virus to.If you played umbrella chronicles and RE4,it looks like that from story line.RE4 is just a branch in the three that will connect old school to new stuff.I hoped this would be on wii,but the machine is to damn weak for this kind of game-and its gonna be very striped on details-polyes and textures.So i`l probably buy ps3 or something.Cant wait to see this on my tv!!!

i think the RE series has evolved how zombies are developed. slow zombies to fast zombies. think of as an upgraded or souped up T-Virus. i like how capcom has done with this game and i can't wait to grab it. if you all have seen movies like Dawn of the Dead (2004) and 28 Days/Weeks Later, imagine playing a game with that kind of environment and going up against groups of zombies coming at you fast with just the intention of killing you in many horrible ways.
