E3 '07: Resident Evil 5 Trailer Impressions

I'm not sure if anyones said this yet, but like all the other resident games have white zombies, and I don't see anyone saying thats racist. People just seem to figure, if your killing a person (zombie in this case) thats not white, you must be racist.

i haven't played Re 4 yet but I don't like the idea of zombies being too fast. they shouldn't be faster than a human. of course this is probably about something other than zombies like I hear RE4 is about if so thats OK, But I just want some zombies to come back to the Resident Evil Games, Zombies and the T-Virus was what the story was supposed to be about.

I've decided, people are racial prudes. Why do you think this is racist? I think a RE game set in africa is awesome, the most amazing country in the world coupled with super crazy zombie/not-zombie monster things is awesome, the only thing that could make it more of a good idea is if there's vehicles, that would deserve four million thumbs up, just because there's black people in it doesn't make it racist and yeah sure a white main character is a bit ifffy, but he's part of the series and i guess it kinda cancels that out. Hehe, people are making this into something it isn't. ResEvil 4 was incredible, and it looks like 5 will follow in it's footsteps. This game looks like it will be the best most intense 3rd person shooter ever! A definite buy for me!

I was just waiting for the time that those false moralists would once again acuse a game from being violent and such...Doom,Carmageddon,Gta,Manhunt and now Resident Evil?? I mean they are judging the 5th installment of a videogame by a 2minute trailer...how can these people simply flag videogames,try to ban them, when the game is in developement stage? the game is far from being released and they are already trying to tear it down. even so they should at least check the background of the game. I mean, they are zombies! how many zombie flicks of all sorts are there? gory, violent,exaggerated stuff, and no one ever done such a mess cause its A MOVIE, FICTION!! why are videogames so different?? The only explanation for this may be that lawyers want to earn some money,so "lets attack videogames", everyone does it nowadays, and as always we, the consumers, the gamers are the ones who lose in all this.

Will this be a multiplayer game?

This game is definitley greatly anticipated. The zombies are incredibly fast, guess the main character now needs to take steroids to survive.lol As of the racist crap. I live in the bahamas, a majority black country but actually most of us are mixed with indian and caucasian(which explains different hair, skin and eye colors). I agree with alot of the other gamers, It is based in africa so obviously its going to have black zombies. That doesn't matter. It's just a videogame for entertainment and a scare plus resident evil 4 was based in a spanish region(cant remember which one lol) and I didn't hear them complain about it ,So i absolutely give props for capcom for this masterpiece plus Chris is back and more cut up and muscular than ever!. This will be a one hit wonder, definitely looking forward to it. So people relax........ Remember...... ITS JUST A VIDEO GAME!

i like this idea (action-heavy gameplay) from RE4 and i'm glad to have it in RE5 , considering the enemy will be faster in this installment it 's a lot much better than RE4 bcuz the enemy in that move slowly so that they give us the opportunity to shoot them easily in various ranges so im glad that'll be changed.

Definately looking forward to this. i think the brave & bold move with environment change should be welcomed.

I dunno about you people... But if zombies are white and , you cant just kill one group of them.Doesnt matter about the colour of a zombie! they will still eat your brains =D But over all it looks like a fun game :) Here is to resident evil 5!

wait to see the final product before casting judgment. I think the way they are setting it up is going to point out the awful irony in the game compared to the real world, that's part of the beauty of resident evil games. I think it would be more strange if it took place in Africa and there were no people of color. Again, I expect this storyline to have a purpose and that's why I think it would be better to wait until it comes out.

First off, people are entitled to express whatever opinion they wish to. People trying to stop them are either dumb, narrow mind, foolish or just plain naive. Get a grip, you can't force someone to change their opinion. If someone believes that game has racist undertones or believes the opposite - well, let them. How does their opinion affect you? My own opinion on the game is that it is bordering on bad taste and lacks the ability to empathize with people who find it uncomfortable. Some changes are probably necessary to the final game - such as allowing the player to chose from a number of main characters, at least one of them being black. I think what game developers fail to realize is that a growing number of their customers are black and not of cuacasion background. But where they fail, is in appealing to them and making products that reflect their own fantasies. For the others who 'can't let this thing go either way, get a grip and probably a life. Its just a game.

I think that gamers around the world should react to this title and boycott it! We have the power to say now when a few racist developers try to produce some crap like this. I hope that people can se through the façade of nice looking graphics and se what it’s really about!! I can’t believe that capcom can support this. This is nothing like the great classic Resident Evil games (not included RE4). I think it’s stupid of them to spoil the RE series like this. I live in Sweden and I really hope that the game gets banned here.

Resident Evil 4's infected weren't Latinos. They were Spaniards with full European blood (makes them European caucasians). Latinos are from Latin America and have Spanish blood and Native American blood. Spaniards are pretty fair-skinned compared to Latinos. Resident Evil 5 is completely different. It's the first time they aren't completely white zombies.

yo bleach 190 i saw the trailer and to answer ur doubt there is dodging while aiming and evading other sorts of attacks and other than that redfield seems to get very physical with his "non-zombie" friends hence my presumption before watchin the video about fist action in the gamegue to redfields muscles com tru .graphix r even cooler than crysis considerin that this is a 3rd person game since and all ppl no that good graphics is a must for fpss . the texture, charachter animation, artwork, detail, lighting , special effects ,bump maps will leave ur jaw on the floor.capcom seems to b really taking adavantage of next gen.

this game is gonna be BAD ASS, iv played all the RE games and RE 4 re-invented the combat of the series and i hope that they improve on the combat mechanics like dodge crouch and roll features would be much appreciated.

I was never a fan of resident evil UNTIL I PLAYED RESI 4. That game really did revolutionise the series and is one of my favourite games of all time. I am so glad that they followed the same formula for Resi 5 and I simply Can not wait for it... It will definately end up being one of the best games out in this generation of consoles. (because of how experienced the team is and the fact that they nailed 4 almost perfectly)
