Developer Techland has announced that Dying Light's "Be the Zombie" mode, announced in August 2014 as a preorder bonus, will now be available to everyone for free on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
In the Be the Zombie mode, players will stalk others as a "night hunter," a zombie mutation described as a "lethal predator" with skills like super speed, a grapple tool, and special attacks.

The night hunter also has its own special skill tree, which players can advance through by completing rounds as the zombie creature.
Techland also today confirmed details about Dying Light's global launch dates. While the digital and boxed copies of the game remain on schedule to launch January 27 in North and South America, the release dates for Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia have slipped back.
Digital versions of the game will launch January 28 in those regions, but physical copies have been delayed by a month, to February 27. Techland also confirmed that all physical preordered versions of Dying Light will come with two extra DLC packs, Cuisine & Cargo and Ultimate Survivor Bundle, for free.
Techland also provided a statement regarding the pushback for select markets.
"Dear gamers,
As you already know, today we detailed our launch timing for Dying Light. Although the changes affect only the release of boxed copies in certain territories, we want to show all of you our appreciation for your continued support. Thus, we're really happy to announce that 'Be the Zombie' will be available for free to everyone, on all platforms, in all territories.
We'll also be giving away extra weapon dockets to everyone who pre-ordered Dying Light and signed up at Dockets.DyingLightGame.com.
We want to thank you for your patience and support in this matter and can't wait for you to enjoy playing Dying Light and invading other players’ game in the 'Be the Zombie' mode.
- Dying Light Team"
