Now Playing: Dying Light: The Following Video Review

"As a developer, we have worked with many renowned publishers in the past so we know first-hand what makes these kinds of collaborations efficient and satisfying for both parties," said Techland chief executive Pawel Marchewka.

"After the successful promotional campaigns for Dying Light and Dying Light: The Following, led by our own dedicated team, we believe this is the perfect time to use everything we’ve learned and help other developers.

"We believe in a flexible and open publishing philosophy, based on respect for the players," he continued. "We will encourage and financially support developers through investing in bold, unconventional games with great entertainment value."

Techland was founded in 1991 and until 2006's Call of Juarez was primarily a PC developer. It's most recent release was Dying Light: The Following, an expansion pack for its open-world survival horror game.

The expansion was released as part of an Enhanced Edition of Dying Light digitally and at retail for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It was also available as a standalone download for those that have the original version.

In GameSpot Dying Light: The Following review Scott Butterworth awarded the game 8/10.

"Rather than giving players more of the same, The Following evolves Dying Light's formula by adding substantial new mechanics that compliment or even reframe familiar gameplay elements.

"The dirt buggies fit right in and provide both rewarding survivor strategy and moment to moment excitement ... However, nothing can top tearing across the plains at night with vicious Volatiles grabbing at you from just outside your roll cage. It's a thrill I never expected to find in Dying Light, but thanks to The Following, I'm now a true believer."
