Draft-ward bound.

Kevin Durant is making a name for himself by being entirely too good at what he does for how old he is. Earlier this year, the 6'9", 18-year-old college-basketball sensation won accolades for being the youngest player and first freshman to be named as the AP's college player of the year, as well as the Big 12 player of the year. Durant again rewrote the books by being the first freshman to win both the Naismith Trophy and Wooden Award, which are given to the best college basketball player, male or female, of the year.

Today, the imminently draftable wunderkind can add a few more feathers to his peach-fuzz-brimmed cap. EA has named Durant as cover athlete to its upcoming NCAA March Madness 08, which was officially announced today. Developed at EA's Canada studio, March Madness 08 will release some time during the upcoming basketball season for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, and Xbox 360.

Durant is the second-youngest athlete and fourth overall teenager to be featured as an EA Sports cover star, along with Freddy Adu (16, FIFA Soccer 06 in US), Carmelo Anthony (19, March Madness 04), and Wayne Rooney (19, FIFA Soccer 06 in Europe). Durant's appearance also marks the first time players from the same university will cover more than one EA game concurrently, as earlier this year fellow Texas Longhorn Vince Young was named Madden 08 cover boy.
