Dungeons & Dragons Adds A New Class In Upcoming Sourcebook
D&D adds a new class, Artificer.
A new sourcebook is coming this November for Dungeons & Dragons. Eberron: Rising from the Last War takes players back to the war-torn Eberron for the first time since 2004, and this world mixes technology and magic and adds a ton of new content to the D&D world.
Eberron: Rising from the Last War takes players to Khorvaire, a war-torn continent filled with technological advancements like airships, trains, and manufactured humanoid creatures. The book will also introduce the Artificer class, which is the first new class made for D&D since the debut of the 5e Player's Handbook in 2014. The Artificer fuses technology and magic, and not much was revealed about the new class in the press release. Additionally, there will be four new races added to chose from.
"Fans have been clamoring for more Eberron ever since we digitally released the Wayfinder’s Guide to Eberron last year on the Dungeon Master’s Guild," said Nathan Stewart, vice president of the D&D franchise at Wizards of the Coast. "Eberron: Rising from the Last War is the culmination of hundreds of playtests and player feedback sessions, and we think fans looking for something new will enjoy adventuring through a world with magically powered trains, airships, and mechanical beings."
This upcoming D&D book will immerse its players in this war-torn continent, giving both players and DMs a variety of new options when it comes to adventuring, storytelling, and new cities. All of this can be used for a new game of D&D or to add onto a game you're currently running. Here's a breakdown of some of the key things we know about the new book.
Key new additions:
- New class: Artificer
- Four new races
- 12 new dragonmark tattoos
- Patrons, a new game element for groups
- Return to Ebberon in the midst of a war
Eberron: Rising from the Last War arrives on November 19.
