Despite Duke Nukem Forever's very long development cycle, the game's debut earlier this month for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC was met with a cold critical reception. However, this isn't stopping publisher 2K Games from bringing the game to a new platform--Macintosh computers--in August.

Aspyr Media today announced that it has entered into a publishing partnership with 2K Games to port and publish Duke Nukem Forever for the Mac this August. Aspyr Media has ported several high-profile games from Windows to Mac, including Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Civilization V.

When Duke Nukem Forever launches this August for the Mac, it will be available via Steam and will support Steam Play and other Steamworks features. The game is currently available to preorder via Aspyr Media's online store, where the game's system requirements can also be found.
