Not a bad game, but it doesn't worth the money you spend in. Rent it and you're done.

A DuckTales Remastered and Castle of Illusion Remake bundle would be nice. The only problem is that both titles are from different publishers.

This is really good for me as now I can finally buy it for real. Hopefully more digital only games found their way to physical form too as I don't really like my games being digital.

Tom McShit really under scored this game. He gave it a 4.5 and the Metacritic avg is 74 from 30 different review sites.

I loved this game back when it was originally released. I think it was on the original NES system back then, but I could be wrong. I remember it being very, very short because I beat it in one sitting.

@Vodoo Oh no, a single person didn't value a game as much as several others did - he must be wrong. There's no way he could disagree with 30 different other persons, that he perhaps have never met.

@Vodoo My response to each and every review:

http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m2aoqqQYS41r0hqfjo1_400.jpg.

There's nothing to get upset about, it's just his opinion and it being different than a lot of other opinions doesn't disqualify it. You may say that he was harsh or unfair, but that just means the he *as a person* didn't like it as much as everybody else.

After some thought I think this was a good move. Many parents who would buy this for their kids probably wouldn't necessarily allow them free access to go online with it but would go to a retail store to purchase games for them, I would guess these are who they'd have in mind in targeting the retail market for shelf space. BTW I never played the original but I thought it was a decent game and kinda shows me what a remastered Ghosts N Goblins/Ghouls N Ghosts would look like, Disney-esque art would be greatly suited for a remake of those games.

@soulless4now That $5 is for the case, shipping the case, and profit for the retailer that sold it. So ONLY adding $5 isn't that much when you look at it like that.

@Falconoffury Why don't you ask Steam that? They are the Messiah according to all the pc gamers here.

@Vodoo @Falconoffury I'm an atheist, so I don't think Steam is the Messiah, they're just the best available option in my opinion, except for GoG (but they focus on older games).

I installed Steam just to play Half-Life 2, more than 7 years ago. That was before I heard of any other digital distribution alternatives or even thought about the benefits of it. I don't like installing another digital distributor, so unless they have some great game/offers, Steam is where I'll buy games from, except when they're also on GoG. GoG offers more extras, is generally cheaper and doesn't require you to start a third-party program to run your purchased games, which puts it above Steam.

@Falconoffury PC's a digital system, so you shouldn't expect much there. However, if you want DRM free, you should bug the responsible parties to get the game on GOG where it belongs.

I'm surprised this is getting a retail release. Wasn't the reception for DuckTales Remastered a little lukewarm at best?

@loopy_101 Nah, just from Gamespot if you're talking critical reception. On Metacritic it got 74, 70, 76 and 66 for PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC, respectively. Haven't heard anything about commercial success, though.

20$ does seem like a fair price. Knowing Crapcom from this gen, they could of charged 30$ because they added some generic mode that cost them 50 cents to make. Also, there's no DLC, so that's good. Maybe the company being in the red is finally getting to them?

The WiiU version was available, I guess accidentally, for pre-order for a day or so on a Canadian retailer website, months ago. I remember because it coincided with a promo that knocked off $10 so I decided to get it but then the orders were cancelled and the item removed from the site.

@hystavito So that is what that was. I thought they were going to sell DLC cards because I couldn't find any mention of retail discs at the time.

I shall get the disc based version. I always prefer retail over digital. So $19.99 is a fair price.

@Megavideogamer Indeed. I actually don't care if they are giving games I want away as PS+ premium benefits. If a physical version is available on a console, I'll go for it first. I make an exception to the PC side because digital is more common, but games can be modded.

@Jinzo_111887 @Megavideogamer I only play PC games so there's no benefit of getting a physical copy. Steam isn't going anywhere, I don't buy games I'm likely to get tired of in a few years and I prefer games that can be modded. People saying I miss out on games or am limiting myself to a small selection haven't seen my backlog. I've got more games than I can handle and they're all long and/or moddable games.

It's sad that this game gets so much attention while the recent Mickey Castle of Illusion remake, which is a much better game, went completely under the radar.

@SlimeSwayze They got almost identic Metacritic averages, but Gamespot liked Mickey much better than Ducktales. If you think it's much better, then other people's opinions don't matter that much.

@SlimeSwayze I have that game as well, and I definitely think that is a much better game than ducktales is. If there is anyone out there who doesn't have those games, and can only afford 1 of them, then Castle of illusion is by far a much better choice than duck tales is.

This boggles my mind - companies, including Capcom, have complained about the cost of producing physical copies and how games are going to be digital only, and here they are producing physical copies of a digital only game. And no, this isn't the first game that went from digital only to physical - The Walking Dead, anyone?

@Class_Act998675 yeah...but thats the only way some people (i call them purists) will buy games. most people have become drones and just eat up digital games for the same price as retail...lmao they say it costs to much to make retail games so they make them digital and people still pay the same price. it makes me laugh so much.
