GT Interactive announced on Thursday that its latest PlayStation release, Driver, surpassed the one million unit sales mark in its first month of release. Unsurprisingly, Driver is currently one of the top rented titles in the US. GT Interactive credits Reflections - its internal development studio - as well as a large TV and print campaign, for the game's popularity.

"There's no doubt that we are excited about the early success of Driver, and early reorders indicate that its sales momentum continues to be extremely positive," said Tony Kee, Director of Marketing for GT Interactive.

The PC version of Driver, which GT Interactive is already expecting to fare well retail-wise, should be on shelves in September.
