In addition to the new update, Evolution announced that a new expansion pack called Finish Line will be released on March 22. This includes six events, five trophies, and two new cars: Koeniggsegg Regera and Jaguar XJ220. Another expansion, called MV Agusta, arrives on the same day, introducing the same number of events and trophies, but instead of cars, it brings two new bikes: MV Agusta Brutale 1090 Corsa & MV Agusta F4RC. Pricing for those two expansions was not divulged.

Also on March 22, all Driveclub players will receive the Aprilia RSV4 RF ABS bike for free.

Today's free update weighs in at 300MB and brings the size of all of the Driveclub updates to date to 13.5 GB. The update will download automatically when you play Driveclub while connected to PSN.

I wish this game had split screen.

What is the state of this game now? I know early on it had many issues but lot of it goes fixed so. There is a deal on for PS+ members for the full game plus the season pass for 20$.

@skemaal: awesome looking racer, psyics is good takes getting used to the flag braking system definitely worth the 20 bucks as there is a shit ton of content with season pass.

@skemaal: If you want the absolute best looking racing game of any current gen console and enjoy true, randomized weather effects it's worth a shot.

@wookiegr: except that weather is scripted into each event. Yeah, i would say this game looks a slightly "more real" than Forza or but, it also runs at half the frame rate.

That being said. The game looks great and is quite fun(even if it is in a no man's land between sim and arcade) and there is a lot to do...more than any racing game which I have ever played.

@Zzshock: It's not scripted, you can configure the weather however you want it. It's completely scripted and only on certain tracks in Forza. Forza looks too much like a cartoon compared to Driveclub. They are not even in the same league graphically.

@wookiegr: to bad driveclub isn't as fun as forza..... forza smokes driveclub......

@wookiegr: well driveclub has some pretty horrendous contrast issues. Never in my life have I seen trees oversaturated like that. Buildings and man made geometric objects look equally life like on both games. The texture quality is a bit better on the pavement and the scenery on driveclub. Night driving is way too dark though and don't get me started on night time rain in driveclub...

I like both games.

@wookiegr: I'd rather take Project CARS over either DriveClub or Forza 6, better simulation, better tracks(not just which track but the feel of the track i.e. bumps and surface changes), more diverse types of racing. But all 3 are different types of games. DC is an arcade racer, Forza is a car collecting game with decent simulation racing, and PC is a pure sim.

@suicidesn0wman: Maybe I should of been more specific cause I find it interesting what you wrote. I am a Forza player and I do enjoy arcade racers. So from what you are saying this would likely be a perfect fit for me?

@skemaal: If you're asking about DriveClub I can't say I have enough experience with that game to recommend it or not.

Good that they're still supporting this game for the people that play it.

Driveclub is a great looking/working race game for the PS4. I don't think there is another one I like as much as Driveclub right now. It had a rough start...but damn. If you can get it for 10-20 bucks....give it a try!

@7tizz: Are you aware that if their was no gran turismo there would be no forza because that is the game turn 10 studios copied, so get down on your knees and thank playstation for your racing game.

@7tizz: Driveclub is an incredible game too bad you cant play it.

@7tizz: With so many posts about DC, looks like you are very bothered. Not necessarily for the right reasons, but nevertheless. People usually don't waste time on something they couldn't care less about.

Burnouts were good, tho'. But they were not really the same genre as DC, which is not the same genre with Forza... which is not the same genre with PCars. They are all very different games.

@yukushi: Because GT was the first racing game ever right?

Avatar image for nikon133

@suicidesn0wman: It was not the first racing game, but it could just as well be the first driving game, though. The game where you can collect hundreds of cars that behave very differently and very much like real cars, within capabilities of hardware platform the game runs on.

Jeremy Clarkson gave GT4 a go and concluded his hearty review with: "That’s how it is. This game would only be more real if a big spike shot out of the screen and skewered your head every time you crashed. In fact that’s the only real drawback: that you can hit the barriers hard without ever damaging you or your car. Maybe they’re saving that for GT5. Perhaps it’ll be called Death or Glory.

Whatever, you could definitely use GT4 as a device for trying out your next car, especially if you’re thinking of buying a Viper. That’s just as undriveable in the game as it is on the M6".

That was 10 years ago. Forza did catch up nicely since.

@suicidesn0wman: Microsoft has already stated they created Forza to have their own IP like Sony's Grand Turismo. Forza was literally made because of GT. You should know that.

@flyincloud1116: I've been intending to go back and see how they fixed things, but the backlog is too large, there's about 100 games ahead of it atm. I bet I end up playing GT Sport before I get back to this game.
