TOKYO - Enix's president Yasuhiro Fukushima told Bloomberg Japan that his company plans to release a sequel to Dragon Quest Monsters, the Game Boy version of Enix's popular RPG, during the next fiscal year. The game has sold more than two million copies since its release last year.

Fukushima also revealed the company's plans to release Dragon Quest III for the Game Boy next year. DQIII, the third installment in the popular RPG series, had originally been released for Famicom in Japan back in 1988. The game was ported to the Super Famicom in 1996.

The latest title in the series, the Game Boy versions of Dragon Quest I and II, will be released in Japan on September 23 and will be followed by Dragon Quest VII for the PlayStation later this year. As an aside - Fukushima stated that Enix currently has no plans for releasing a Dragon Quest title for the PlayStation 2.
