Dragon Age Toolset enters closed beta
BioWare issues call to mod-making community for testers on PC fantasy RPG due out later this year.
On the release of Neverwinter Nights for the PC in 2002, BioWare handed out its Aurora content-creation toolset to the game's community. With it, players were able to craft their own custom modules and quests, which could then be uploaded and shared with the rest of the community.
In August, BioWare announced that it plans to release a similar toolset alongside the PC edition of Dragon Age: Origins. And today, the EA-owned developer said that it is now accepting beta-tester applications through the game's official Web site. BioWare notes that not all who apply will be accepted into the beta test.
As for applicants, BioWare hopes to attract a diverse pool of testers. It is seeking those with little to no mod-making experience in addition to veteran module builders. The developer also said that testers will be selected from a wide range of desktop setups.
Initially expected by the end of March, EA announced in February that the PC edition of Dragon Age: Origins is now expected to ship alongside the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions this fall. For more information, check out GameSpot's previous coverage, as well as the video below.
