Double Fine Productions today announced Day of the Devs, a special event in collaboration with production company iam8bit to be held November 2 in San Francisco, California.

The free event will feature a lineup of games from Double Fine, including the first public hands-on opportunity for the Kickstarter-funded Broken Age, as well as an unannounced new title from the Brutal Legend studio.

Games from Supergiant Games, Capybara Games, Gaijin Games, SpyParty, Honeyslug, and Tribute Games will be on display at the event, as well as various merchandise. In addition, Fez creator Phil Fish will serve as DJ for the event, organizers announced.

"It's basically all of our favorite people in one place, for a night of awesome games, food, music, happiness, and creativity," Double Fine president and CEO Tim Schafer said. "Essentially, a Night of 1,000 Hugs."

Several food trucks will be on location, and drinks will be served. The event will be held at Public Works at 161 Erie St. in San Francisco from 4-8 p.m. on November 2. The event is free to attend, though no one under 21 will be allowed in. More information is available at the new Day of the Devs website.
