Ubisoft today announced that Stephen Dorff will be providing the voice for the hero in the publisher's upcoming first-person shooter, Far Cry Instincts. The game will be an Xbox exclusive (it was previously planned for the PlayStation 2 as well) and will hit shelves in September.

Dorff has appeared in several movies over the past few decades, most noticeably as the villain in 1998's Blade, the discontented youth in S.F.W., and a detective in FearDotCom. Dorff has some game-acting credit as he starred in Uwe Boll's Alone in the Dark, a film adaptation of the Atari game.

Composer Paul Haslinger will also be lending his talents to the game. Known for his work in Minority Report and Tomb Raider, Haslinger's score attempts to bring out the dramatic tension of the game's storyline.

In Far Cry Instincts, gamers will roam an open tropical environment as Jack Carver, who is stranded on a tropical island and searching for his missing friend. The game is a "reimagined" version of the 2004 PC game Far Cry.
