Doom's Excellent Soundtrack Now Available to Listen to Outside the Game

It might just be the best of the year.

Doom was a surprise hit when it arrived earlier this year, offering a surprisingly great campaign. Part of what made it so good was the soundtrack, which you can now enjoy anytime.

Bethesda today released Doom's soundtrack for sale and streaming. It's available on both iTunes ($10) and Google Play ($9.49), or it can be streamed through Spotify. Those in the US can listen to it through the embedded player at the bottom of this post, or find a selection of songs on composer Mick Gordon's YouTube channel. Here's one, which I think gets particularly good about halfway through:

Its 31 tracks were written, produced, and mixed by Gordon, and are available for $1 a pop through iTunes and Google Play if you're only interested in picking up a handful of songs.

The soundtrack was one of the aspects of Doom praised in GameSpot's review, and in my estimation it's one of the best in any game this year--at least until Rez Infinite arrives.

Doom recently received its third free update, introducing a free-for-all mode and private matches for multiplayer.
