DICE is instead focusing on the original trilogy exclusively.
Electronic Arts and DICE have plans for lots and lots of DLC for Star Wars Battlefront, but don't expect this to include anything based on Disney's new Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

A fan recently asked the game's Twitter account (via NeoGAF) if there might be content coming to Battlefront based on the record-setting sci-fi blockbuster. Here's the full response:
"Our team is focusing on the original trilogy for this release of Star Wars Battlefront."
Battlefront's Battle of Jakku DLC is inspired by the events of The Force Awakens, but is set 29 years before the film so it doesn't exactly count.
The wording of the tweet, in particular "this release," suggests that The Force Awakens content may possibly show up in the multiple Battlefront sequels that EA is planning. But this is not confirmed.
At least four expansion packs are coming to Battlefront, the first of which will debut in 2016. Together, they will deliver the following content:
- Over 20 new items, including weapons, vehicles, and Star Cards for both Rebels and Imperials.
- 4 additional Heroes and Villains (these were not named).
- 16 new multiplayer maps featuring "new locations."
- 4 new game modes.
The Battlefront DLC pass (which grants two-week early access to the expansion packs and other perks) costs $50 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Assuming EA and DICE follow the same setup as the recent Battlefield games, the DLC packs are likely to cost $15 each.
You won't have to pay a penny to get some new Battlefront content, however, as DICE has also announced plans to deliver things like new maps and Star Cards for free.
