Donovan, Marquez join Rooney on NA FIFA 12 cover
US striker, Mexican center back to join Manchester United forward on American iteration of EA Sports' latest soccer sim.
Last week, EA Sports announced that Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney would grace the cover of the North American iteration of FIFA 12 as one of three athletes. The publisher today announced the other two footballers, naming rivals Landon Donovan and Rafael Marquez FIFA 12's additional cover stars in North America.
Donovan is currently a striker for the LA Galaxy Major League Soccer team. Marquez also plays in the MLS, as a center back for the New York Red Bulls. Donovan and Marquez also play for the US and Mexican national teams, respectively.
While Donovan and Marquez are working together to help promote FIFA 12, tonight in Philadelphia the two will go head-to-head. The United States will look for retribution when the squad takes on Mexico at 6 p.m. PDT. The US squad has lost three straight matches against Mexico, including the Gold Cup final in June by a 4-2 margin.
