Benedict Cumberbatch has shared some new insight about his time on the set of Doctor Strange: In the Multiverse of Madness, speaking specifically about how great it's been working with director Sam Raimi.

Raimi came aboard Doctor Strange 2 after Scott Derrickson--the director of the original--left the project due to creative differences with Marvel. Cumberbatch told the AP that it's been "great" working with Raimi on the film, saying he is funny, generous, and helpful.

"It's going to be great," Cumberbatch said. "It's fantastic working with Sam. He has such an extraordinary energy and humor. He meets everything with a smile and a joke, and he's a great collaborator as well, even for someone as experienced and iconic as him. He's able to absorb everything and help with everything in such a generous and inclusive way. He's a delight to work with. We're having a blast. We're having a really good time. I hope the movie is good. We're certainly having a good time making it."

Cumberbatch also briefly touched on the health and safety protocols in place for Doctor Strange 2's production in London, saying it's been amazing to watch the cast and crew go to such great lengths to ensure the health and safety of everyone on set amid the pandemic.

There is an ongoing rumor that Doctor Strange will appear in the next Spider-Man film, No Way From Home, which will reportedly involve the multiverse. However, Cumberbatch is refusing to discuss those rumors.

Doctor Strange 2: In the Multiverse of Madness, is set to premiere in theaters in March 22. In other news, Disney just announced a big shakeup for its 2021 movie slate, pushing Black Widow to July and announcing it will be available for $30 on Disney Plus Premiere Access.
