Disney World reveals Boo Bash Halloween Celebration

If you're looking to spend Halloween at Disney World, the theme park has big plans for you.

Hot on the heels of Disneyland opening in California, Walt Disney World has revealed how it'll be celebrating Halloween. While the park won't be doing its traditional Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party this year, it has lined up an alternative. Disney After Hours Boo Bash kicks off on August 10 and runs select nights through October 31, after Magic Kingdom closes.

The event will give guests access to the parks, as well as the option to wear Halloween costumes--something you typically can't do in Disney's parks. Yes, you'll still have to wear masks and comply with the company's COVID guidelines.

These after-hours events allow a limited number of guests who buy tickets into the park after hours, from 9 PM until midnight, to enjoy shorter lines for rides and character sights featuring your favorite Disney characters in Halloween costumes. You can take a look at the video above for a preview of what those costumes will look like. Boo Bash will also include plenty of trick-or-treating, special lighting, decor, and music throughout the park, and plenty more.

Tickets for the event go on sale in June. And that's not Disney's only spooky announcement. The company also revealed there will be a new Muppets special this Halloween. Muppets Haunted Mansion will stream on Disney+ later this year, and send Gonzo and the gang into the iconic theme park attraction.
