It has been a rollercoaster of a ride for the Disney+ Obi-Wan TV show, which was originally planned as a movie. The Star Wars show has already been delayed, but things are looking back on track as the series has found its writer, Joby Harold, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The newly-added Harold co-wrote the 2017 movie King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, and executive produced John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum and Edge of Tomorrow. Additionally, he is the co-writer of Zack Snyder's upcoming zombie flick Army of the Dead for Netflix.

Back in January, there were rumors that the upcoming show was delayed because of issues with the script. "There's all this bullsh*t about creative differences and all that stuff, none of it true," Ewan McGregor told GameSpot in January. "None of it's true; they just pushed the dates...they had more time to read the stuff that had been written (after Episode IX), and they felt like they wanted to do more work on it." Everything is, McGregor says, "not nearly as dramatic as it sounds online."

Deborah Chow will direct the upcoming series; she helmed a few episodes of The Mandalorian last year. In a statement for the upcoming series, Lucasfilm boss Kathleen Kennedy said, "We really wanted to select a director who is able to explore both the quiet determination and rich mystique of Obi-Wan in a way that folds seamlessly into the Star Wars saga. Based on her phenomenal work developing our characters in The Mandalorian, I'm absolutely confident Deborah is the right director to tell this story."

It will be a while before we see the Obi-Wan series, as the show will not begin filming until January 2021. At earliest, we could see it in the fall of 2021.
