Disney Dreamlight Valley: How To Get Onyx

As you progress through the various quests in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you'll eventually find that Merlin offers you a way to craft a variety of useful potions that can enhance your tools. Some of these will require some very rare resources, though, including Onyx. In this guide, we'll tell you how to score some of these elusive gems.

How to get Onyx in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Onyx can only be obtained by mining. You can get it at any mining node in the game, but it's an extremely rare drop, meaning it will take quite a lot of grinding to score enough to craft any potions. Luckily, there are a few ways to increase your chances a little bit.

You'll have to do a lot of mining to find Onyx.

For starters, you can always bring a mining friend along with you so that you get an increase in your resource drops. Additionally, using a Miracle Pickaxe Potion can ensure you get more gem drops, too, but it's worth noting that these potions actually require Onyx to make. Since that's the only use Onyx haves for now, though, there's really no harm in using one of the potions while you're farming for any of the many other gems in the game.
