If you're not too concerned about 4K visuals, but you still want to experience the latest games, the Xbox Series S is a pretty great console, especially with its attractive price tag. With big exclusives like Starfield on the way, now is a great time to get one of those consoles and at eBay you can snag a Xbox Series S with an extra controller for just $290.

This deal includes a brand-new console, the standard white Xbox wireless controller, and an extra Velocity Green version, all from a Microsoft-authorized seller. The Velocity Green controller has a retail price of $65, so this is a nice deal. The console itself has a smaller and more portable design than its Series X big brother, but it also shares some of the hardware of that advanced console.

It has a 512GB SSD for lightning-quick game loads, Quick Resume that lets you switch between multiple games seamlessly, and Xbox's Smart Delivery system means that you'll get an optimized 1080p experience on that console. For the controller, it might not have all the fancy haptic feedback features that Sony's DualSense flaunts, but the Xbox option does have superb ergonomics, strong battery life, and a solid design.

Alternatively, preorders for the upgraded Xbox Series S console are now live. This $350 version of the home console bumps up its storage capacity from 512GB to 1TB and it has an attractive Carbon Black finish. It's worth noting that the Xbox Series S is an all-digital console, so you won't be able to play any of your old Xbox One or Xbox 360 games on it due to it not having a disc drive. A Game Pass subscription easily remedies that, as you'll have access to a wide variety of first and third-party games on it. Right now, you can get three months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for $40.
