Disciples II and O.R.B. delayed

Strategy First postpones the release of two upcoming games to give them more marketing attention.

Strategy First has announced that it will delay the release of two games, Disciples II: Dark Prophecy and O.R.B., until early 2002. According to the company, the delay will make room for a number of games in the company's fall lineup, such as Rails Across America, Patrician II, and Europa Universalis II. The company felt that it needed to give Disciples II and O.R.B. extra marketing attention. In addition, the delay will provide additional time for the developers to polish and fine-tune the games.

Disciples II: Dark Prophecy is a turn-based strategy game set in a medieval fantasy world. The game features a number of improvements on the previous Disciples game, including enhanced graphics, a larger variety of units and environments, and an all-new campaign. O.R.B. is a 3D real-time strategy game in which players control one of two warring factions. It features a traditional real-time strategy combination of combat, resource management, and technology research, but the game also lets players take direct control of their units, which turns the game into a sort of space combat simulation. For more information about O.R.B., read our in-depth preview of the game.

Disciples II: Dark Prophecy is now scheduled for release early next year, and O.R.B. is scheduled for release next spring.
