Popular dinosaur game Ark: Survival Evolved is coming to PlayStation 4 very soon.

Studio Wildcard announced today that the game will launch for PS4 on December 6 through the $55 Ark: Survivor's Pack. This comes with the base game and the desert-themed expansion, Scorched Earth.

The Survivor's Pack contains an "up-to-date" version of Survival Evolved that features all previously released content, as well as the aforementioned Scorched Earth expansion. There is also some PS4-exclusive items in the form of the a Bionic Giganotosaurus skin and a Manticore armor set. Click through the images in the gallery above to get a closer look at those items.

This is not a finished version of Survival Evolved, as it's an in-development edition similar to the versions of the game on PC (Early Access) and Xbox One (Game Preview). The full release for PS4 is scheduled for Spring 2017, though whether or not this date also applies to PC and Xbox One is unknown.

Interestingly, Studio Wildcard initially said that Sony blocked Survival Evolved from release on PS4 because it did not allow in-development games on that platform. It appears that has changed.

Initially released in June 2015, Survival Evolved has been a big hit, attracting more than 5.5 million players across PC and Xbox One. It remains one of the most popular games on Steam, sitting in the No. 5 position right now in terms of top games by player count.
